Santos style wood carved cherub 17" tall by 9" wide and 15 1/5" deep . This is a beautifully created piece, made from heavy solid wood. The wings are large and have a wonderful dramatic shape to them. I did not want to over do it with this piece. It was made in Italy and what makes this one a bit different is the size of the head and quality of the face. It has dainty features. The glass eyes are not overly carved so I painted the piece in very soft tones. These are a bit more rare than others. I created a halo crown using my handmade, hand dyed roses in a very light beigy - pink, (there is no peach color in the roses), and surrounded the bottom in rhinestone trim. I used several techniques to give the roses a dried time worn aged appearance. Around the neck is a heart and 2 beautiful rosaries. One made from wood and the other gorgeous glass crystal. The bowl the cherub is holding would make a perfect display for collections of artificial or real fruit, rosaries, pearls, LED candles or ivy plants. This would be a splendid centerpiece or set on a table at your front door. Use it in a bathroom for a hand towel or in your kitchen to place a pretty dish towel. Set her on a front porch or back patio.
