Cottage core antique French quilt bed scarf, couch throw
180 in overall length, Body 80 in long, 66 in wide skirting 52 in long This is an antique quilt from France, gorgeous in every way.. From age it has become extremely soft and imperfect, but is still in beautiful condition. There are a few tears, but nothing harmful and just enhances the tattered shabby look. The color is an off white ivory - ecru and the roses are ever so slightly faded in a mauvy-rose and pink. The long panels are on 2 sides. There is a natural embroidered stripe and white cotton with delicate embroidered flowers. I made sure all of the fabrics were soft as butter, using my washboard method and my secret to softness and a wrinkled effect. The feel blends beautifully with the French quilt. I do not create clean hems, I love the look of frayed edges and the tattered appearance. The panels are pleated where they meet the quilt. I used a ruffled tulle trim as to stay with the frayed and well worn look. The trim I used for the panels is embroidered lace, which finished the piece off beautifully. I started creating versatile fabric decor long ago. These can be used for anything you want. They are one of a kind and meant to be a piece to spoil yourself, and bring something beautiful and useful to your home. Use them as throws, runners, table covers or bed scarfs. Wonderful for a cabin, gypsy wagon or she shed.
